Installment #1 / Preface (revised 09-08-2015):
I should preface this with a lot of information to sort of put some things in context…
I’ve always felt that I have been blessed in many ways. At times, there were definitely some trials and tribulations throughout the journey to where I am now. Nevertheless, I’ve always felt blessed in some way. Over my years, I’ve always been dreaming of the future and how it will be when I meet “MFW.” Years ago, I even created a company (Media Moon, LLC.) email address for “MFW” just to communicate with her. Granted, she would never communicate back because at that point our paths haven’t crossed. Either way, I’ve written many emails to share with “MFW” some day about the crazy thoughts that run around in my head and a lot of miscellaneous odds and ends here and there. On occasion, when there was a rough day or just out of left field, I would just write a quick email to her to tell her that I loved her and that I was thinking about her. I also Tweeted to her many times as well (for those that are familiar with that). I was always hopeful that “MFW” would eventually show up, but never knew for sure whether or not she actually would. I’m what some people call a “skeptic.”
I’m also a hard-core believer in always being efficient… Or at least being as efficient as you can…
Installment #2 (revised 09-08-2015):
As a hard-core believer in always being efficient, I had to find an efficient way to find “MFW” while I was still young. Hehe… I was working full-time and running my side company (some of those nights were quite long – still are, actually… HA!), so I had to stick with processes that returned results, or at least try things that could potentially yield results. All roads led to trying the online dating thing. I was trying this site, that site, this app, and that app but nothing ever seemed to work out… Amazing! Someone as awesome as me wasn’t able to get much of a response… Yes, quite a few people missed out. HA!!!
Eventually, on eHarmony, there was “Jean,” who, on paper, seemed like quite a winner. She seemed to be intelligent, extremely ejucatid, fun-loving, family-oriented, and seemed to possess many other positive attributes. We communicated for a few months before we met in person. Then we sort of went from there. At first, Jeannette seemed to be a bit shorter than I expected, but she had some interesting green eyes. I’m sure I came off as someone who was interviewing her for a job, but we seemed to make it past that part just fine. By the way, it turns out she’s not quite 5’2″ as she originally stated, she’s 5’1 3/4″ (nothing like the old “bait and switch”). Either way, I’m probably on one side of the spectrum, whereas she’s kind of on the other side, which I think is a great thing. It seems to help us come to better-analyzed conclusions when we’re in “deep discussions.”
Over time we started to get closer and continued to get to know each other better…
Installment #3:
As time went on, I would say that we started to notice various attributes about one another. These were attributes that seemed to fit together for the both of us. They also seemed to be things that were at the core of the people that we have become over the course of our lives. For me, one of the attributes was that Jeannette is quite humorous. My thought on that is that life is too short to be miserable and have someone next to you who only makes you more miserable (i.e. the proverbial “Debbie Downer” or “Negative Nancy”). There’s no shortage of people who are negative and miserable, so it’s probably best to have someone around that can make you laugh and brighten up your day.
During our time together, another thing that has become apparent is that Jeannette has an ability to not only handle adversity, but bounce back from it (which is probably the biggest attribute I look for). Life is bound to throw us a few curve balls as we go through it, but if you have someone next to you who can hit a home run off of a curve ball, they’re definitely a keeper. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when the proverbial bases are loaded. 😉
Installment #4 (Added 09-21-2015):
As time went on, we’ve continued to get closer and closer to one another. We’re still learning each other and we’ll continue to do so over the course of our lives… And at this juncture, having Jeannette by my side makes my world better in so many ways. The sun shines brighter, colors I see are more vivid, the clouds in the sky are whiter. She enhances my life beyond what I could have ever imagined…
Installment #5 (Added 09-21-2015):
Feeling the way that I feel, I figured I should probably marry this woman. Thus, after talking with Jeannette’s parents, they gave me the “go ahead” to propose to their daughter. On July 27th, 2015 (just short of 6 months from our first date and just after finishing Pre-Cana on that Saturday), we went out for dinner and a dessert in the city (Chicago) to celebrate the completion of Pre-Cana. From there, we took a helicopter from the city (Chicago) to Hoffman Estates, with a few roundabouts above the downtown Chicago area. It was a beautiful night for a flight like that. 😉 When we landed, Jeannette’s sister, Annette, picked us up and dropped us off at Jeannette’s house, where I proposed later that night, Jeannette said “Yes” and became “MFW” (my future wife).
