How lucky and blessed am I to have finally found the love of my life (TLOML)! I have to admit that at one point, I thought that I would never find that special someone for myself. We didn’t meet in the most conventional way, but then again finding love online seems to be the norm nowadays.
We were matched on eHarmony and that is where our story begins. After going back and forth for about 2 months and one phone conversation, we finally set up our first date. It was on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2014. When he walked through the door of Lucky Monk in Hoffman Estates (by the way he was LATE!!), I thought… oooOO he’s Handsome!!!! He was very formal, polite, and interested in getting to know me. We had a very nice conversation, mainly talking about our family. After our lunch date, we still continued to text throughout the day and at midnight, he wished me a very Happy New Year. How sweet :-D.
After that first date, I did think he was a bit of a “stiff”. I wondered, does he have a good sense of humor? Is he always this formal? Does he ever wear anything other than a tie? HAHA! It wasn’t until about the 3rd date that I finally saw a more playful side of Patricio. Thank goodness for those awesome M.C. Hammer dance moves! I think that was our first real good laugh together.
When did I know he was the one? One night while parked in front of Barnes and Nobles, we got into a discussion that lasted over 3 hours! It was then that I discovered who Patricio was, as a person. I found him to be so kind, loving, generous and such a deep thinker. We talked about what we wanted and hoped for in our futures. It seemed that we were on the same page about everything. I left that night feeling butterflies in my belly and such happiness. I thought to myself, this is a man I can marry! Please God, you brought him into my life for a reason, please let him be the one for me.
Our trip to Paris, sealed the deal. We were with each other 24/7 and had such as blast together and with my future parents in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. When I came back home, I knew that I would never want to be without him in my life.
One thing I have realized about TLOML, is that when he wants to do something special for someone, he goes above and beyond. It may take some time in planning, but it is all worth it. The engagement day was so very special, with a romantic dinner in downtown Chicago overlooking the Water Tower and one of the highlights of the night – a private helicopter tour of downtown Chicago! When he finally proposed at the end of the night, of course I said YES!!!
Everyday with TLOML has been such a blessing. Through good times and bad, we have always stood by each other’s side (I’m rolling with you, baby). I know our lives together will never be dull and filled with so much love and laughter. I have never felt so happy and I can’t wait to begin our adventure, as husband and wife. You are my everything Patricio. Te amo!
